Roháčske mountain lakes (Roháčske plesá)

Roháčske lakes (Roháčske plesá) are located in the Western Tatras (Západné Tatry), in Roháče Mountains, in the Žilina Region (Žilinský kraj), in the Tvrdošín district in Slovakia. They are four lakes at an altitude of 1 562 - 1 719 m.a.s.l.., connected each other by Roháče stream (Roháčsky potok). They are located on a nature trail Roháčske lakes. Below the Roháčske lakes there is small lake called Opal lake (Opálové pliesko) and the Roháč Waterfall (Roháčsky vodopád).

You can start the hiking tour from multiple points, e.g. from the cottage Zverovka (can be reached also by bus), or from parking under Spálená, than by hike to Zverovka tourist crossroads and than to the next tourist point (crossroads) Adamcuľa - Spálená dolina (Burnt Valley) - Roháčske plesá (Roháčske lakes) – tourist point in Smutná dolina (Sad valley)  - Ťatliakovo jazero (lake) and back Adamcuľa  - Chata Zverovka (Zverovka cottage). You can get to this area by car or bus from the direction Dolný Kubín (city) or Tvrdošín (city) through the villages of Habovka and Zuberec.
