Green Lake (Zelene pleso)

Green Lake  (in Slovak Zelené pleso)  is mountain lake in Slovakia located at an altitude of 1 545 m, has an area of 1,78 ha and has deep 4,5 m. Green Lake is the largest mountain lake in the eastern part of the High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry). It belongs among the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tatra mountains (Tatry). It is located in the  Valley of White Water /  Valley of Kežmarska White Water  (Dolina Kežmarskej Bielej vody) bellow the peak Little Kežmarský Peak (Malý Kežmarský štít). Thanks to green lightening water it was named  - green.

The hike to Green Lake can be started and finished at several points and along several hiking trails. We recommend that you inquire at the local tourist information center and also inquire about the difficulty of the individual routes. The most common starting point for access to Zelené pleso is the tourist center Tatranská Lomnica (part of the town of Vysoké Tatry).
