Popradske lake (Popradske pleso)

Popradské pleso is mountain lake situated in Mengusovská Valley (Mengusovská dolina) in High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry) mountains in Slovakia. It has an area of depth of 17 m, and is located at altitude 1 494.3 m. a.s.l. The lake was created after the retreat of the glaciers in the last ice age. The valley was filled with water from the surrounding valleys and peaks.

Popradské pleso is accessible for hikers throughout the year. The asphalt road leads to the lake, but access by car is possible only with a special permit. The most popular starting point for the hiking to Popradské Pleso lake is Štrbské Pleso lake.
