ZOO Spišská Nová Ves (ZOO SNV) - Slovakia

The ZOO is located in city of Spišská Nová Ves on an area of 8 ha. Among the most attractive are the animals registered in the so-called The Red Book of Endangered Animals, including the Tiger Ussurian.

Other interesting animals are Bactrian camel, Bornean orangutan, Mandrill, Lama alpaca, Shetland pony, Jaguar, Capybara, Cougar and others. From domestic fauna you can see a Brown bear, Mute swan, Pheasant and others.

Zoo was founded in May 1989. City Park was renovated different animal species where added up gradually. In 2012, the ZOO opened the Aquaterra Pavilion. There are various kinds of marine and freshwater aquarium fishes, lizards, snakes, turtles, invertebrates, surikates and monkeys are located.

The variety of woods found here makes it possible to present the ZOO area simultaneously as a botanical area. In our ZOO we have marked more than 30 species of woody plants.

For children, there are two children's playgrounds in our zoo. During the summer season children can enjoy the attractions (inflatable giraffe, trampolines, horseback riding, children's autodrome). In the ZOO area there are refreshment stalls, souvenir shop, ZOO shop and confectioery.

Every year there are organized a variety of cultural events directly in the are of ZOO.
