Strečno Castle - Slovakia
The Strečno Castle  is a reconstructed ruin of a medieval castle located in northern Slovakia, 12 km east from the city of Žilina. The castle stands on a 103 m. high calcite cliff above the village of Strečno. It constitutes a significant landscape landmark of the Upper Váh region. The first recorded mention of the stone castle is from 1316. Today the castle belongs to the national cultural heritage of the Slovak republic.

The medieval village of the Paseka, built in year 2013 according to period medieval buildings, is situated under the castle. It consists of five small fully equipped wooden houses with straw roofs.

Strečno Castle is under the administration of Považské Museum in Žilina.
