Gerlach Peak (2654 m) is the highest in the High Tatras and in Slovakia, too. Gerlach Peak is, because of its height and breathtaking scenery, one of the most visited peaks in the High Tatras. It is possible to climb there only under the leadership of a skilled mountain guide.It is situated in the crotch of the Back Gerlach Peak (Zadný Gerlachovský štít) separated by the Gerlach saddle (Gerlachovské sedlo). The comb goes from the top of the peak to the Kotlovský Peak (Kotlový štít) where it forks and creates wellknown Gerlachovská basin (Gerlachovský kotol).

Lomnický štít (Lomnický peak) is one of the highest and most visited mountain peaks in the High Tatras mountains of Slovakia. Connected by cable car  to Tatranská Lomnica, its summit is 2634 metres above sea level, making it the second highest peak in the High Tatras after Gerlach Peak (Gerlachovský štít) (2654 m).The first ascent was made by local shoemaker and amateur miner Štefan Fábry around 1760-1790, but the first recorded ascent was made by the English traveler Robert Townson and guide on 16 August 1793.
