Museum of folk architecture under the castle - open air museum, belongs to the youngest in Slovakia. It was made available in 1985. It is an ethnographic exhibition in nature that represents the cultural values of the north-east Spiš region. At present there are 25 objects. The exhibition area is located almost in the middle of the town of Humenné on a relatively attractive and rugged terrain, which reflects the character of Upper Zemplín (Horný Zemplín) region. On an area of about 4 ha you can see 15 objects - blacksmithery, a mill, agricultural huts and domestic houses. Dominant of the open-air museum is a wooden church - the Church of St. Archangel Gabriel which was moved here from village Nová Sedlica. The open-air museum is part of Vihorlat Museum's exhibition.

The open-air museum is the oldest facility of its kind in Slovakia. It was open to public in 1965. Vlkolínec, Slovakia, is a picturesque village under the administration of the town of Ružomberok. Historically, however, it was a separate village. The first written mention of the village came from 1376 and after 1882 it became part of Ružomberok. Vlkolínec is one of the Slovak villages that have been given the status of a folk architecture reservations. This status was granted because the village is an untouched and complex example of folk countryside architecture of the region of the Northern Carpathians.
