Andy Warhol was born on 6th August 1928 in Pittsburgh to a family of Ruthenian immigrants issuing from the village of Miková close to Medzilaborce in the territory of present-day Slovakia. He had two elder brothers, Paul (b. 1922, d. 2014) and John (b. 1925, d. 2010). His father Andrej Varchola/Andrew Warhol (b. 1886, d. 1942) was working as labourer and miner. It is the only separate specialized display of Eastern Rite icons in Slovakia. It includes displayed icons - paintings on wood - from the 16th to 19th centuries, on which the visitor can follow the development of Carpathian icons. The Schaubmar Mill is part of the Slovak National Gallery. It is the only well-preserved windmill in Slovakia with a functional milling technology. You will find an Exposition of  Mills and a Gallery of Contemporary Art, in which is especially presented modern and contemporary art and design. In the mill, we are dedicated not only to the preservation of cultural heritage and to the presentation of visual arts. In 1990, the SNG acquired the building of Esterházy Palace in Ľudovít Štúr Square in Bratislava. It is an adjacent multi-storied building in neo-Renaissance style, built during the 1970s by architect J. Strážky mansion is National cultural monument in town Spišská Belá, in town section Strážky. The mansion was built in years 1570 - 1590 on the foundations of castle from 13th century.
