Horehronie (called also Upper Hron River region / Upper Pohronie) is Slovak region and region of turism. It is situated in Region Banská Bystrica (Banskobystrický kraj) - on territory of districts Banská Bystrica and Brezno. It spreads on upper course of river Hron. From the northern side, the region is bordered by Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry), from southern side Muráň Plain (Muránska planina) mountains, Vepor Mountains (Veporské vrchy) and Poľana mountain range.
