Bukovec Mountains Bukovec Mountains (Bukovské vrchy) is mountain range in Region Presov (Prešovský kraj), in district Snina, in the east Slovakia. Highest peak is Kremenec (1 221 m. a.s.l.). Highest point of Kremenec is situated outside the territory of Slovakia, approx. 150 m to the East - on the Polish-Ukrainian borders.

Bukovec Mountains are part of Poloniny National Park. The territory is together with Poland and Ukraine protected areas entered into the international biosphere reserve called International East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve.

There are Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians on the territory of Bukovec Mountains. Largest by area is forest Stužica. Together with Havešová, Rožok, Vihorlat (Vihorlat Protected Landscape Area) were  Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians in year 2007 entered into UNESCO Natural Heritage list.
From a geomorphological point of view Bukovec Mountains (Bukovské vrchy) as a geomorphological whole is part of area Poloniny : System: Alpine-Himalayan system -> Subsystem: Carpathians (Karpaty) -> Province: East Carpathians (Východné Karpaty) -> Subprovince: Outer East Carpathians (Vonkajšie Východné Karpaty) -> Area: Poloniny. Whole Bukovec Mountains (Bukovské vrchy) is divided into subwholes: Bukovce, Nastaz.
